Easter Sunday

Today we spend Easter alone with one of our sister's and so far it has been one of the best Easter's so far. No relatives to hide from, no criticism or pointing fingers. No negative comments or high expectations. Just us and sis, enjoying each others company and relaxing.

Some of the others are still fighting inside though. They are screaming at each other. It has been three days now since the fight originally started. I feel so bad for Bee... it is causing a massive migraine and extreme sensitivity to outside noise and light. It has also kept us all from sleeping which has caused our memory to worsen.

Here are some Easter facts for ya:

-In 2000, Americans spent nearly $1.9 billion on Easter candy.

-90 million chocolate bunnies are produced each year.

-Each Easter season, Americans buy more than 700 million Marshmallow Peeps, shaped like chicks, as well as Marshmallow Bunnies and Marshmallow Eggs, making them the most popular non-chocolate Easter candy.

-Yellow Peeps are the most popular, followed by pink, lavender, blue, and white.

-Pretzels were originally associated with Easter. The twists of a pretzel were thought to resemble arms crossed in prayer.

-Americans consume 16 billion jellybeans at Easter, many of them hidden in baskets. If all the Easter jellybeans were lined end to end, they would circle the globe nearly three times.

-The traditional act of painting eggs is called Pysanka.

Happy Easter!!

Fire

When I was younger I was absolutely terrified of our house catching on fire. This quote puts me back in that feeling of "unease".

Every 45 seconds, a house catches on fire in the United States!

I realize that this next fact has NOTHING to do with my first one, but I would like to share it anyway.

You burn more calories sleeping than you do watching TV.

So next time you want to watch TV, take a nap instead!

PB & J

96% of people put the peanut butter on first when making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Apparently I am one of the 4% of people who put the jelly or honey on first!

Children laugh about 400 times a day, while adults laugh on average only 15 times a day.

Isn't it sad how we change so drastically?

Just Some Thoughts

I feel bad for Bee, my host. She has been so sick most of her life and nobody can figure out what is wrong with us. It has been very quiet today in the Dome. Lor and I have been making puzzles for the littles and Tayela is preparing for our meeting later today. It has been quiet, I think, for Bee because it has been a pretty tough day for her.

My hopes for this weekend are high, so we can have fun with our friend.

Yelling for Coffee

If you yelled for over 8 and a half years, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.

I don't personally like coffee or drink coffee, but this is pretty damn cool. I bet the same would work for a cup of hot cocoa as well.

Quicksand

The more a person struggles to get out of quicksand the faster they will sink. Staying still, and being calm, will actually make the body float in the quicksand because the body is less dense than the quicksand is.

As a young child, I had this ridiculous fear of dying in quicksand. Any movie that had quicksand in it have me nightmares for months. If only somebody had told me this fact sooner…

"Bang Head Here"

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.

I don't advise doing this, but hey! Whatever works...
